Remote Advanced Practice Provider information

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Advanced Practice Providers and how can they be addressed?

Remote Advanced Practice Providers often encounter challenges related to virtual patient assessment, such as limited physical examination capabilities and establishing rapport through telehealth platforms. Effective communication skills, proficiency with telemedicine technology, and adapting clinical judgment to remote settings are essential for success. Building strong collaborative relationships with on-site healthcare teams and maintaining clear documentation can help address these challenges and ensure high-quality patient care.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Advanced Practice Provider, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Advanced Practice Provider, you need advanced clinical expertise, a graduate-level degree (such as NP or PA), and valid licensure. Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and relevant state or national certifications is typically required. Strong communication, self-motivation, and adaptability are critical soft skills for building patient trust and efficiently managing virtual care. These abilities are essential for delivering safe, high-quality patient care and maintaining effective remote collaboration.

What is a Remote Advanced Practice Provider?

A Remote Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a healthcare professional, such as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, who delivers medical care and services to patients through telehealth technology rather than in-person visits. Remote APPs assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients' health remotely, often using video calls, phone calls, or online platforms. This role allows for greater flexibility, improved access to care for patients in rural or underserved areas, and the ability to maintain work-life balance for providers. Remote APPs often work for hospitals, clinics, or telemedicine companies and must be licensed in the state(s) where their patients are located.

What we do: ARS provides services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan's largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Corewell Health. American College of Radiology has designated Corewell a Diagnostic Center for Excellence . As a Joint Commission-accredited and certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and leading provider of comprehensive stroke care, Corewell Health is committed to fostering better outcomes for stroke patients.
What we are looking for: We are seeking a remote Neuroradiologist to cover overnights. The schedule would be 10 p to 7 a EST working 7 on and 14 off. This is ideal for someone living in the Pacific Time zone or Hawaii. This is a partnership track position with full compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities:

We utilize Intelerad PACS, PowerScribe 360 and Clario; we have outstanding IT infrastructure and 24/7 help desk support. Our remote radiologists are encouraged to participate in virtual section, committee and board meetings and their input is essential to our practice decisions. Compensation/Benefits: We are offering a newly approved 75K recruitment incentive (sign on bonus) for remote readers, competitive compensation plan, stipends for on-site shifts, and opportunities for additional shifts on a month to month basis. Why is our practice unique? ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice. We are committed to remaining independent. We are looking for entrepreneurial minded physicians who value involvement in decision making and developing our business strategy. Participation in section, committee and board meetings is not required but welcomed from day one for on-site and virtual employees. While we are an independent private practice, some of our physicians practice with an academic focus. In affiliation with Michigan State University College of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor residents and pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled.
