• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, documenting client assessments from the initial consultation to treatment conclusion.
• Develop tailored treatment plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring evidence-based approaches.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic techniques that promote healing and positive behavioral changes.
• Regularly monitor and assess client progress in relation to their treatment goals, adjusting strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to design and implement comprehensive intervention plans.
• Ensure continuity of care through follow-up coordination with clients’ primary care professionals, particularly for those requiring hospital admissions.
• Proactively identify barriers to recovery and support clients and their family members in managing mental health challenges effectively.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in psychotherapy and best practices as defined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

As a mental health counselor at Rosewood, you will work with a diverse client population facing various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and trauma-related issues. Our clinic serves not only individuals but also couples and families, requiring a sensitive and adaptive approach to therapy that incorporates cultural competence and empathy.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York is essential.
• Successful completion of the NCE and/or NCMHCE and a solid foundation of knowledge in mental health principles.
• Demonstrable previous experience in a mental health counseling role.
• Proficiency in electronic health records systems, particularly AVATAR, enhancing the efficiency of client documentation and care delivery.
• Understanding of the interactions between physical health conditions and mental health, including experience with addiction disorders.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital, along with an ability to establish rapport with clients of varying backgrounds.

• Experience with group therapy facilitation is a plus, along with a track record of contributing to clients’ recovery journeys.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapy modalities and contemporary mental health treatment practices is advantageous.
• An understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by consulting physicians will enhance treatment efficacy.
