This position is designed to be fully remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a strong connection with our school partners in the McAllen area. You'll be part of a collaborative and resource-rich environment dedicated to facilitating school-based mental health services. Our remote work format ensures that you can provide care that meets students’ needs while balancing your professional commitments effectively.

• Conduct thorough assessments of students’ mental health, developing tailored treatment plans that are sensitive to individual needs and circumstances.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions, as well as group therapy sessions, fostering a safe space for students to express their feelings and challenges.
• Engage in family therapy as necessary, working collaboratively with parents and guardians to support the student’s emotional and mental health needs.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities to guide treatment, including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, or trauma-informed care approaches.
• Maintain precise and confidential client records, documenting progress and adjusting treatment plans as required.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, school administrators, and other healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to a student’s wellbeing.
• Participate in ongoing professional training and supervision, keeping abreast of developments in clinical social work and mental health care.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory and ethical standards within the field of social work.

You will primarily work with school-aged children and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and trauma-related disorders. This role emphasizes supporting both the individual and their families, ensuring a wraparound approach to mental health care that addresses the complexities of each student’s situation.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required; however, a Master's degree is preferred for comprehensive clinical practice.
• Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is essential.
• A minimum of three years of experience in a mental health setting, particularly with school-aged populations, is mandatory.
• Proficient knowledge of a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities relevant to the school environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and assessment skills are crucial for effectively engaging with students and their families.

• Experience in a school-based mental health setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and skills in de-escalating emotional situations.
• Knowledge of community resources available for families navigating mental health issues.
