Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with the Medical Director and Medical Team Administrator to coordinate comprehensive mental health treatment plans within the clinic and referrals to external mental health resources as needed.
  • Provide mental health in-service training for medical, psychiatric, and security staff to enhance their understanding and capacity to respond to mental health needs within the facility.
  • Intervene in and manage mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and appropriate treatment modalities as necessary.
  • Attend commitment hearings, offering expertise and testimony based on professional assessments when required by the facilityโ€™s contracts.
  • Create individualized treatment plans and measurable goals for patients, focusing on their unique mental health needs and progress.
  • Document all patient interactions meticulously, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and ethical standards while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Verify past patient mental health histories and review psychotropic medication usage for informed clinical decision-making.
  • Generate scheduled reports and any special reports necessary to document patient progress and clinic outcomes accurately.
  • Coordinate with nursing and mental health staff to facilitate effective post-release referrals, ensuring continuity of care.
