Job Title
Adjunct Instructor, Art Appreciation and Humanities
Essential Job Functions
  • Teach assigned Art Appreciation and Humanities courses in accordance with approved course descriptions, learning outcomes, and academic standards.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures, discussions, and instructional materials that promote student understanding of artistic, cultural, and historical concepts.
  • Develop and maintain course syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned with institutional curriculum guidelines.
  • Evaluate and grade student assignments, projects, exams, and participation in a timely and fair manner.
  • Foster an engaging and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and appreciation of diverse artistic and cultural perspectives.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grades, in accordance with university policies.
  • Utilize instructional technology and learning management systems (LMS) to support course delivery and communication with students.
  • Communicate effectively with students regarding course expectations, progress, and academic support resources.
  • Adhere to institutional policies, academic integrity standards, and departmental guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, or professional development activities as requested.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Art, Art History, Humanities, or closely related field required; Doctorate, preferred.
  • Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in related coursework.
  • One (1) year teaching experience in related field

  • Knowledge of art history, art appreciation, and humanities disciplines, including visual arts, culture, history, philosophy, and literature.
