As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Park Avenue Psychotherapy, your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with the Medical Director and Medical Team Administrator to ensure cohesive mental health treatment plans are developed and implemented both within the clinic and for external referrals.
• Conducting in-service training sessions for medical, psychiatric, and security personnel regarding mental health awareness, crisis intervention techniques, and other relevant topics.
• Implementing rapid intervention strategies during mental health emergencies to stabilize patients and ensure safety.
• Participating in commitment hearings as required, advocating for patients’ rights and needs.
• Developing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patients, establishing achievable goals, and tracking progress.
• Documenting all patient interactions consistently and accurately, maintaining the confidentiality and security of medical records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
• Conducting thorough reviews of patients’ mental health histories, including any prior psychiatric treatments and medications prescribed.
• Preparation of regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports concerning mental health treatment outcomes and clinic operations.
• Coordinating post-release referrals with nursing staff to ensure that patients have appropriate follow-up care and resources upon leaving the facility.

Our patients represent a broad spectrum of backgrounds and experiences, including individuals facing substance use disorders, trauma, mental health crises, and those requiring ongoing therapeutic support. You will engage with a diverse array of patients, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities for growth. To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• An active and unrestricted license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Oregon.
• At least two years of clinical counseling experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in therapeutic techniques.

While all relevant experience will be considered, the following specializations are highly preferred:

• Family and couples therapy.
• Substance misuse counseling.
• Trauma-informed care and therapy.
