Overview:
Sentara Health is currently seeking a Credentialing Specialist I for our Sentara Hospitals.
This is a remote position: Remote opportunities available in the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming
Hours/Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift (Remote Day Shift between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.)
Responsible for ensuring that healthcare professionals and providers meet the necessary qualifications and comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards. This role involves gathering and verifying a variety of documents and information, coordinating with healthcare providers, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date credentialing files.
Collect and verify credentials (licenses, certifications, education, training, and work experience) for healthcare providers and professionals, ensuring that they meet all regulatory, state and federal requirements. Prepare and submit applications for privileging and/or payer enrollment. Act as primary point of contact regarding credentialing and re-credentialing matters.
Education
  • High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)

Certification/Licensure
  • CPCS - Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (Preferred)

Experience
  • 1 year of related Credentialing experience (Required)
  • Credentialing experience in a credentialing office in a hospital, health plan, or CVO environment (Strongly Preferred)
  • Credentialing experience in a medical staff office (Strongly Preferred)
  • Provider/Physician Credentialing experience (Preferred)
  • Excellent Customer Service experience (Preferred)

We provide market-compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay for Full Time employment, this position, is min 16.92 - max 25.38 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities
