Fine Point Consulting, a boutique Accounting, CFO and HR services firm, is hiring a Staff Accountant to join our fun and high energy team. The staff accountant position is responsible for a multitude of accounting activities which include all areas relating to accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank account reconciliations, and payroll for the clients we serve. The staff accountant will also be responsible for the timely processing and recording of transactions, as well as positive interactions with clients, client customers, and client vendors. We will also expect our candidate to be able to prioritize, be organized, and have an unwavering willingness to help our team.

Reports to: Controller/Team Leader

Responsibilities:

  • Process client invoices and post customer payments, sales tax exemption certificate administration, preparation of sales tax returns
  • Process vendor bills, download and code credit card transactions, new vendor setup, W9 administration, and 1099 preparation
  • In-house payroll and payroll tax processing, new hire setup, coordination with client payroll providers, and recording of payroll-related transactions
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Produce financial statements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office, must be particularly adept with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience working in a paperless environment
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Team player with a positive, "can do" approach
  • Prior experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Excited to learn about and utilize new technology

Starting Salary range is $45,000-$50,000 annually.
