United Heritage Credit Union is seeking a Network Administrator II to serve as a key technical resource for our enterprise network and infrastructure. In this role, you will enhance the performance, security, and resiliency of our network, server, cloud, storage, telecommunications, and identity environments. You will partner with the IT Infrastructure Manager to lead infrastructure projects, evaluate emerging technologies, and mentor members of the infrastructure team.

This position is fully onsite in Austin, Texas, and requires availability in an on-call rotation to support critical system emergencies, outages, and network issues.


What You'll Do

  • Design, administer, secure, and optimize LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, voice, VPN, firewall, and related network technologies.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot complex issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and plan for future capacity needs.
  • Administer Windows Server and Linux environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Entra ID, and hybrid identity services.
  • Manage VMware ESXi or comparable virtualization platforms, enterprise storage, backups, disaster recovery, and infrastructure lifecycle activities.
  • Support Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange Online, single sign-on, conditional access, and endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, EDR, vulnerability management, and SIEM tools.
  • Strengthen network segmentation, secure remote access, resiliency, and Zero Trust practices.
  • Lead infrastructure projects from design and testing through implementation, documentation, and deployment.
  • Evaluate vendors and emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve security, scalability, performance, and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, inventories, procedures, security standards, and disaster recovery documentation.
  • Serve as an escalation resource and provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to the infrastructure team.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and provide after-hours support for critical incidents and maintenance as needed.

What You'll Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, and experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise network and identity infrastructure.
  • Advanced experience with enterprise routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, segmentation, and secure remote access.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, STP, QoS, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and static routing.
  • Experience with Cisco or comparable enterprise networking platforms.
  • Experience administering Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, enterprise storage, and Microsoft 365/Azure hybrid environments.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity controls, backups, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resiliency.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, project leadership, and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • A collaborative approach and demonstrated ability to mentor and support other technical professionals.
  • Availability for occasional travel, evening or weekend work, and an on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Netmiko, RESTCONF, or similar automation tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE, Firepower, ASA, CUCM, Unity, UCCX, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SAN, NAS, and enterprise backup technologies.
  • Experience working in financial services or another regulated industry.
  • PMP, CISSP, CompTIA, Microsoft Azure, or Microsoft identity and access certifications.
