• Conduct in-depth intake assessments and mental health screenings that evaluate the individual needs of students, enabling tailored treatment plans.
• Provide short-term individual counseling sessions and crisis intervention for students facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, academic stress, and relationship issues.
• Design and facilitate therapy groups and workshops that address relevant topics such as stress management, self-esteem, and coping strategies, creating a supportive peer environment.
• Engage in collaboration with campus partners, such as academic advisors and student organizations, to develop holistic support strategies that enhance student well-being.
• Participate actively in outreach and prevention initiatives, including organizing mental health awareness campaigns, educational seminars, and wellness events to destigmatize mental health issues.
• Ensure accurate and secure documentation of counseling sessions and treatment plans while adhering to ethical standards and legal regulations regarding confidentiality.

The primary clientele will consist of university students from diverse backgrounds, each with unique challenges and mental health needs. Counselors will encounter a range of issues, from transitional stress as students adapt to university life, to deeper psychological concerns, making this role vital for the effective management of student mental health.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is essential.
• A master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field is required to ensure a solid foundation in mental health practices.
• A strong understanding of the specific mental health challenges university students face, and an ability to engage effectively with them.
• Exceptional communication skills for fostering trust and rapport with students, while collaborating positively across campus.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices and brief therapy models that are particularly effective in university settings.
• A demonstrated capacity to manage a diverse caseload with reliability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• At least two years of post-licensure experience providing mental health counseling in a university or college setting.
• Experience in developing and facilitating workshops or group therapy sessions, enhancing peer support network responses.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and digital communication tools that support remote counseling sessions.
