This role is primarily remote, providing flexibility in your work schedule while still allowing for meaningful connections with your clients. While the primary setting is virtual, our counselors often collaborate with each other and other healthcare providers to create integrated care plans. We utilize telehealth platforms that ensure secure communication, allowing counselors to deliver therapy in a safe and comfortable environment for clients.

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions utilizing a variety of counseling techniques tailored to meet clients’ unique needs.
• Utilize evidence-based methods to monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to develop comprehensive intervention strategies.
• Facilitate regular follow-ups with medical professionals regarding the care of clients who may have been hospitalized to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Proactively identify and address potential behaviors or thought patterns that may hinder recovery, employing resourceful strategies to encourage positive change.
• Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers to help them understand and manage the emotional and behavioral challenges presented by their loved ones.

The clients you will serve at Caring Hands Counseling Center encompass a diverse population, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges, along with couples and families navigating relationship issues. We prioritize creating a non-judgmental space where clients feel safe and empowered to share their experiences and work towards recovery.

• A Master’s degree in mental health counseling, psychology, or a relevant field is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State.
• Demonstrated experience working as a Mental Health Counselor or in a similar position.
• Strong understanding of medication management and its effects, particularly regarding mental health treatment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a genuine ability to connect with clients and colleagues.
• Proficient in using telehealth technology and electronic health record systems to manage client information securely.

• Experience working with varying age groups and diverse populations is a plus.
• Familiarity with specific therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care.
• Previous experience in outpatient or community-based settings is desirable.

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary range of USD 80,000 to 101,000, commensurate with experience and productivity. Additional benefits include:
