Description
Journeyman- (5) years of documented experience in chosen craft discipline. Ability to read and interpret instructions from documentations, sketches, drawings or verbal direction for the fabrication of engineered components of pipe and structural steel materials. Working knowledge of B31.3 piping code and the ability to plan and perform work activities with minimum supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Selects type and size of pipe, fittings, valves, steel, equipment and related materials to assemble as instructed.
  • Plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat and allowance for weld shrinkage in preparatory to welding.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together according to blueprints and project specifications.
  • Moves parts into position manually or by hoist, cranes, jigs, fixtures, clamps and jacks.
  • Cuts, threads, bends, shape pipe and steel with various tools and equipment.
  • Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Performs minor maintenance and cleaning activities of tools, equipment and facility.
  • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing personal safety equipment.
  • Performs other duties and activities as required.
