Job description

Skillforce is hiring Commercial Sprinkler Fitters for ongoing project work at data center construction sites in Louisa, VA and Chester, VA. As a Commercial Sprinkler Fitter, you will be responsible for installing fire sprinkler and standpipe systems on new construction. If you are a sprinkler fitter with 2 or more years of experience, apply now!

Commercial Sprinkler Fitter Pay:

  • $28.00 to $32.00 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated field skills.
  • Paid weekly on a W-2.
  • $40 per day per diem for travelers assigned to the Louisa project.

Commercial Sprinkler Fitter Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, full-time, with a 7am start.
  • 8 to 10 hour days with overtime available as the project schedule demands.
  • No nights and no weekends.
  • Ongoing project work on an active data center build.

Commercial Sprinkler Fitter Responsibilities:

  • Install fire sprinkler and standpipe systems on new commercial and industrial construction.
  • Cut, thread, and run steel pipe, and assemble and hang pipe and risers to shop drawings.
  • Set sprinkler heads, drops, and armovers to finished ceiling heights with clean, consistent alignment.
  • Rig and install fittings, hangers, and supports overhead from lifts throughout the building.
  • Coordinate with other trades on site to keep work flowing and maintain jobsite cleanliness and safety.

Commercial Sprinkler Fitter Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of sprinkler fitting or commercial pipefitting experience.
  • Able to read sprinkler shop drawings and lay out your own work with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working at height from scissor and boom lifts on an active construction site.
  • Must provide your own basic hand tools and have reliable transportation to the job site.
  • Willing and able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • NICET certification or prior fire sprinkler installation experience is strongly preferred.
