• Conduct thorough initial assessments that evaluate the mental health and substance abuse needs of clients, tailoring evaluations to individual circumstances.
• Formulate, implement, and review customized treatment plans based on assessment findings, ensuring adherence to therapeutic goals.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to meet diverse client needs.
• Maintain precise and timely clinical documentation in our EHR system, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national regulations.
• Engage in collaborative meetings with an interdisciplinary treatment team to share insights and coordinate care strategies for better patient outcomes.
• Participate actively in case reviews and treatment planning meetings to adjust care plans as needed, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
• Provide crisis intervention services, employing skills in de-escalation and therapeutic strategies to assist clients in immediate distress.
• Stay updated on current trends and best practices related to mental health and substance abuse treatment, attending training and workshops as an avenue for continuous improvement.

This role primarily focuses on a diverse client population facing a variety of mental health and substance use challenges. Clients may include individuals of different age groups, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses, all seeking assistance for issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma. As an LMHC at Gentle Guidance, you will have the opportunity to structure personalized therapeutic approaches that resonate with each client's unique experience and recovery journey.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Must be licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts.
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience providing mental health and substance abuse treatment services.
• Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster rapport with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a treatment team, showing initiative and leadership when necessary.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills essential for managing a client caseload effectively.
• Experience with electronic health record systems is highly preferred.

• Hands-on experience with therapeutic modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
• Familiarity with community resources and referral processes for additional client support.
• Experience supporting vulnerable populations, including youth, families, or individuals facing socioeconomic challenges.
