Job description

Remote Certified Medical Assistant - Medicare Wellness Screenings (Bilingual Preferred)
Welltality is hiring Certified Medical Assistants to conduct Medicare Annual Wellness Visit screenings by phone. If you've spent time in a clinic and you're good with older patients - but you're done with the commute and you want a schedule that works around your life - this is a real version of that job.
Be clear-eyed about what it is: you'll be on the phone most of the day, talking with patients while documenting their answers in the EMR at the same time. It's structured, it's measured, and it's genuinely satisfying if you like the part of healthcare where someone feels heard.
What You'll Do
  • Conduct Annual Wellness Visit screening questionnaires with patients by phone
  • Make outbound calls to schedule and complete screenings
  • Document patient responses accurately in the EMR while the call is in progress
  • Identify eligible patients and assist with scheduling
  • Communicate clearly with patients and clinic staff
  • Keep documentation complete, accurate, and compliant

What Success Looks Like
  • Comfortable with high daily call volume
  • Screening calls typically completed in under 20 minutes
  • Consistently meeting productivity expectations
  • Strong attention to detail with minimal errors
  • Reliable attendance and consistent communication

What We're Looking For
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Experience talking with patients or customers by phone
  • The ability to talk and type at the same time - this is the single biggest predictor of who does well here
  • Comfort being coached. Our best people ask questions early instead of guessing
  • Enough medical vocabulary to sound credible when a patient describes their medications
  • Tech-comfortable with EMRs and Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Your Work Environment
  • Fully remote
  • 35-40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • A private, quiet workspace where patient calls can't be overheard
  • Reliable high-speed internet
  • You'll be talking with a patient and documenting simultaneously for most of your shift

Compensation
  • $17-$20/hour based on experience
  • Monthly performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Consistent full-time hours

Why People Stay Here
We asked our longest-tenured screeners this exact question before writing this posting. Here's what they actually said.
One has been with us seven years. In that time we've worked with her on her hours, her pay, and every life issue that came up - she's been able to be there for her kids and her grandfather without choosing between them and her job. Another told us she stays because she feels valued and because her input actually changes how we do things. Our most recent hire said what surprised her in week one was how quickly people jumped in to help her, and that management noticed when she hit her goals.
That's the pitch. We're not the highest-paying job you'll find, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we are is a team that treats you like an adult with a life, and a job you can hold onto for years.
