ELM Construction LLC is a residential design-build remodeling company serving homeowners throughout the Birmingham metro area. We specialize in thoughtful renovations, restorations, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home transformations. Our reputation is built on exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and treating every client's home with respect.

We are looking for an experienced Residential Remodeling Carpenter who takes pride in their work, values professionalism, and wants to be part of a team that cares about doing things the right way.

What You'll Do


As a Residential Carpenter with ELM Construction, you will help bring remodeling projects to life by performing a variety of carpentry and construction tasks, including:


  • Complete residential remodeling and carpentry work with a strong focus on quality and detail
  • Prepare and protect jobsites to maintain clean, safe, and professional environments
  • Perform careful demolition while protecting existing spaces
  • Complete rough and finish carpentry work
  • Install windows, exterior doors, siding, interior trim, hardware, and appliances
  • Perform drywall repairs, painting, staining, and other finishing tasks
  • Assist with framing, concrete preparation, excavation, and other construction activities when needed
  • Maintain organized and clean jobsites throughout each project
  • Communicate clearly with Project Managers, Production Managers, teammates, subcontractors, and homeowners
  • Identify potential issues early and help deliver projects efficiently with minimal rework
  • Take ownership of assigned work and contribute to a positive team environment
What We're Looking For


The ideal candidate is dependable, skilled, and takes pride in representing themselves and the company inside clients' homes.

Qualifications include:


  • 5+ years of residential carpentry or remodeling experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of residential construction and remodeling practices
  • Experience with a variety of carpentry tasks and repairs
  • Finish carpentry experience is a plus
  • Ability to work professionally in occupied homes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Reliable, organized, and able to manage responsibilities independently
  • Comfortable following directions while also taking initiative when needed
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record preferred
Compensation & Benefits


  • Full-time W-2 employment
  • $22-$28/hour, depending on experience
  • Paid vacation
