Job description

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth!  Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Insurance Posting Specialist at Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona  
 
Canyon State Academy is located on a scenic 180-acre campus surrounded by Farm student housing for 300 + youth, a Thrift Store, Cafe, Barbershop and Church open to the community incorporating life skills for our students. Along with a fully equipped weight room, football stadium, an athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room & more).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
  • Post insurance payments, denials, adjustments, recoupments, and patient payments accurately and timely  
  • Review electronic remittance advice (ERA/EOB) for accuracy and completeness  
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied payments, and posting errors  
  • Reconcile daily deposits and payment batches  
  • Identify trends in denials, underpayments, and payer issues and escalate as needed  
  • Work closely with billing, collections, contracting, and credentialing teams to resolve claims issues  
  • Maintain payer-specific posting guidelines and documentation standards  
  • Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation processes  
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and company confidentiality standards  
  • Support additional revenue cycle functions as assigned  
 
Qualifications 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred  
  • Minimum 1–2 years of healthcare insurance posting or medical billing experience preferred  
  • Behavioral health, residential treatment, outpatient, or PRTF experience strongly preferred  
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, commercial insurance, and managed care reimbursement  
  • Experience with ERAs, EOBs, and clearinghouses  
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet deadlines  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and electronic health record/billing systems  
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test. 
 
Preferred Experience 
  • Experience with payer portals and denial management  
  • Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and UB-04 claim forms  
  • Experience working in a fast-paced revenue cycle environment
