Full-Time Physician – Hospitalist (Swing Shift)

Aultman Hospital – Canton, Ohio

Position Summary:

Admitting Physician focuses on admitting patients and performing consults, take transfer calls and efficiently triage appropriateness for transfer as well as coordinate the appropriate level of care. The Admitting Physician plays a key role in ensuring seamless patient transitions and optimal care delivery within the hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Admit patients and perform hospital consults
  • Take comprehensive patient reports for transfers from the ICU, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Take transfer calls and efficiently triage appropriateness for transfer as well as coordinate the appropriate level of care 
  • Deliver high-quality, efficient medical care with a focus on patient safety and positive outcomes.
  • Provide excellent documentation and ensure accurate and timely billing, all completed on the date of service.
  • Collaborate closely with utilization management, case management, and the bedside care team to optimize care plans and streamline transitions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure they understand the care plan and address any questions or concerns.
  • Closed ICU – no procedures required.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree
  • Ohio State Medical Licensure (or ability to obtain)
  • Current Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Current BLS / ACLS Certificate (or ability to obtained)
