Job description

Staff DevOps Engineer

Location: Pleasanton, CA (Hybrid โ€“ 3โ€“4 days onsite/week)

Our client is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to lead the automation, scalability, and reliability of modern cloud infrastructure supporting customer-facing mobile applications. This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, improving engineering workflows, and driving DevOps best practices in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Android, iOS, and Flutter mobile applications.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable DevOps infrastructure using GitHub Actions and Microsoft Azure.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code and Azure automation tools.
  • Manage and support Kubernetes environments running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to improve development workflows, deployment reliability, and release velocity.
  • Implement and manage identity solutions using Azure AD B2C.
  • Build and maintain API integrations through Azure API Management (APIM).
  • Monitor production environments, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Drive DevOps best practices around automation, scalability, security, and observability.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across infrastructure and release engineering initiatives.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Android, iOS, and Flutter applications.
  • Strong expertise with GitHub Actions for build, deployment, and release automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure automation.
  • Experience managing Kubernetes workloads, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Experience implementing Azure AD B2C identity management solutions.
  • Experience working with Azure API Management (APIM).
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across cloud infrastructure and production environments.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills working with distributed engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Experience improving release processes for customer-facing mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
