Veterinary Technician, Cardiology - CVT/LVT/RVT | $22-$28/hr | Up to $1,000 Sign-On Bonus

Location: Mission, Kansas

Schedule: Full-Time | Four 10-hour shifts per week

Compensation: $22-$28/hr based on experience + up to $1,000 sign-on bonus + $2,500 relocation bonus for experienced candidates

Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty in Mission, KS is seeking an experienced Cardiology Veterinary Technician to join our specialty team. This full-time Veterinary Technician role offers the opportunity to work directly with cardiologists while supporting advanced diagnostics, procedures, anesthesia, and patient care in a newly renovated and expanded hospital.

If you are a CVT, LVT, or RVT with a strong foundation in veterinary medicine and an interest in cardiology, this position offers opportunities to develop your specialty skills while working alongside an experienced veterinary team.

Compensation

  • $22-$28 per hour, based on experience

  • Up to $1,000 sign-on bonus for experienced candidates

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Veterinary Technician supporting cardiologists with daily patient care, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.

  • Obtain and document patient histories, treatments, and diagnostic information in EzyVet.

  • Become proficient in EzyVet and SmartFlow within 30 days.

  • Assist with cardiology examinations, treatments, diagnostic studies, echocardiography, and invasive procedures.

  • Support patient care planning and prepare patients for the perioperative period.

  • Provide anesthesia support and monitor patients during procedures as directed by the veterinary team.

  • Review estimates with clients and provide clear education regarding procedures and treatment plans.

  • Manage department voicemail, client callbacks, and accurate client communication documentation.

  • Fill patient medications and assist with medication and treatment preparation.

  • Maintain clean exam rooms and restock surgical suites and department supplies.

  • Perform technical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, patient restraint, radiography, in-house laboratory testing, pharmacology, medication and fluid administration, oxygen administration, and fluoroscopy.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate patient updates clearly with veterinarians and other Veterinary Technicians.

  • Provide compassionate, professional, and respectful communication with clients and team members.

  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, and other hospital team members in a specialty medicine setting.

Qualifications

  • Current LVMT, CVT, LVT, or RVT credential required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of veterinary hospital experience.

  • Strong foundational knowledge of veterinary medicine and basic disease processes.

  • Experience with or interest in cardiology and specialty medicine.

  • Strong technical skills, including phlebotomy, catheter placement, patient restraint, radiography, in-house laboratory testing, pharmacology, medication and fluid administration, oxygen administration, and fluoroscopy.

  • Strong attention to detail and accurate medical record documentation.

  • Comfortable working collaboratively with veterinarians and other Veterinary Technicians in a specialty setting.

  • Compassionate, patient, professional, and kind approach to client communication.

  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
