General Manager, Renewable Natural Gas - Decatur, IL
Position Overview
The General Manager, Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) is responsible for the overall performance, day-to-day management, and strategic execution of the company's RNG business. This role provides leadership across RNG production sites and delivers strong commercial and financial results. The General Manager works closely with the RNG operations team and senior leadership to execute the go-forward RNG strategy and support long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day management oversight of RNG sites to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
  • Lead and coordinate with the RNG operations team to optimize plant performance and operational discipline.
  • Ensure consistent execution of operational standards and performance expectations.
  • Execute the company's go-forward RNG strategy, aligning operational and business plans with growth and performance objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset performance, increase efficiency, and enhance profitability.
  • Support evaluation and execution of operational and strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the RNG business including annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Manage operating and capital expenditures with accountability for financial performance.
  • Monitor and report on key operational and financial metrics, driving corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead and develop cross-functional teams in an asset-intensive, continuous-operation environment.
Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) or in a management role within a similar energy, environmental, or industrial industry.
  • Proven experience managing day-to-day operations in an asset-intensive operating environment.
  • Strong understanding of business planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Strategic thinker with solid commercial and financial acumen.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead across functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Willingness to travel to RNG sites as required.
