As we continue to expand our Airgateway operations, we are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to help lead one of our largest and fastest-growing air logistics operations in Honolulu, Hawaii.


POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager, Airgateway Program is a senior leadership role responsible for helping drive the performance, growth, and strategic direction of Naniq's Honolulu Airgateway operation. This position partners closely with the Airgateway Director of Operations to execute business strategies across operations, financial performance, client management, and business development.

This role oversees a complex, multi-service aviation logistics operation that includes Amazon Air parcel sortation, aircraft loading and unloading, ramp operations, ground handling services, and a growing air cargo operation supporting multiple airline partners.

The ideal candidate is a proven general manager, operations leader, air cargo leader, aviation professional, or transportation manager with strong operational expertise, financial acumen, customer relationship management skills, and experience leading large, multi-layered teams in a dynamic 24/7 operational environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIESBusiness Planning & Financial Performance
  • Partner with the Airgateway Director of Operations and corporate finance teams to develop and execute the Honolulu Airgateway business plan.
  • Support annual budget development, forecasting, financial reporting, and EBIT performance management.
  • Analyze operational metrics and financial performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Contribute to rate development, profitability analysis, and business performance reviews.
  • Translate corporate strategy into actionable local operating plans.

Operations Leadership
  • Direct daily execution of parcel sortation, cargo handling, aircraft loading and unloading, warehouse operations, ramp services, and ground handling operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, customer, airport, TSA, FAA, DOT, OSHA, and security requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and performance management.
  • Monitor service level agreements (SLAs), KPIs, safety metrics, and customer requirements.
  • Lead capacity planning, workforce allocation, and operational readiness efforts.
  • Maintain operational readiness in a 24/7 multi-shift environment.

Business Development & Client Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Amazon, airline partners, cargo customers, and airport stakeholders.
  • Support contract negotiations, service reviews, and customer business meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to grow air cargo services, ground handling services, and aviation support operations.
  • Partner with corporate business development teams on RFPs, proposals, contract renewals, and new customer opportunities.
  • Monitor market conditions and emerging opportunities in Hawaii's air cargo market.

People Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, managers, administrative staff, and frontline employees.
  • Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, employee engagement, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with Human Resources to develop workforce plans, organizational structures, recruiting strategies, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Support compensation planning, performance management, and employee development programs.
  • Ensure staffing plans align with current and future operational demands.

Reporting & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Prepare and deliver operational, financial, and strategic performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, workforce planning, business growth initiatives, and operational improvements.
  • Serve as a key leader within the Honolulu Airgateway operation and represent Naniq with customers and strategic partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Aviation Management, Transportation Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience within air cargo, aviation, logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, parcel distribution, or ground handling operations.
  • 5+ years of experience in a General Manager, Director, Senior Operations Manager, or related leadership position.
  • Experience managing multi-service operations or multi-customer operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading large teams across multiple shifts and departments.
  • Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and EBIT accountability.
  • Proven business development, customer relationship management, and contract negotiation experience.
  • Working knowledge of TSA, FAA, DOT, OSHA, airport regulations, and aviation security requirements.
  • Ability to work flexible hours supporting a 24/7 operation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience supporting Amazon Air operations.
  • Experience in air cargo, freight forwarding, airline cargo, or ground handling operations.
  • Experience operating within a multi-airline or airport cargo gateway environment.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement certifications.
  • Experience with organizational design, workforce planning, and talent development.
  • Knowledge of Hawaii's logistics, air cargo, or transportation markets.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must successfully pass all required background checks and drug screening requirements.
  • Must qualify for and maintain SIDA badging and applicable airport security clearances.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for business meetings and company events.
