JOB TITLE: Reporter (Racine/Kenosha Counties Beat)
FOX6 Milwaukee is looking for a journalist who thrives in the field rather than behind a desk. Our station is redefining the "beat reporter" for the modern era. We are seeking a high-energy, digital-first reporter to serve as the face and voice of Kenosha and Racine Counties. You won't be based out of the station; you'll live and work directly in the communities you cover. We want a reporter who can work with a photographer to meet the audience where they are: On their phones, on their social feeds, and on our live streaming platform. You'll be rewarded with amazing company benefits including a generous time off package, 401k matching, a wealth of employee resources, and superior medical, dental, and vision benefits from day 1.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Digital First: Produce daily, high-impact content specifically tailored to our livestreaming products and digital platforms.

Short-Form Video Production: Regularly create content on all platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, to drive audience engagement.
Live Skills: Showcase strong LIVE reporting skills and the ability to communicate complex stories in creative, digestible ways...even and especially without a script.
Aggressive Reporting: Dig beneath the surface to find unique, high-impact, hard news stories.
Team Player: We want the type of person who strives to lead the broadcast and break the mold while always prioritizing team interest over self-interest.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field with a minimum of 2 years' reporting experience in a commercial television news operation with strong editorial judgment.
Vision: A passion for storytelling and a consistent track record of bringing "big ideas" to editorial meetings with a vision for TV, digital, and streaming delivery.
On-Air Presence: Strong on-air skills in the field with a proven ability to ad-lib and handle breaking news situations with ease including handling unscheduled, spot interviews.
Technical Proficiency: Newsroom computer and related software skills and digital editing skills preferred.
Drive: Must be a self-starter, organized, and excel with time management.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable law.
