Job description

Person In Charge
Summary: Manages shift operation to ensure customer service and high-quality products are served and delivered. Responsible for the successful execution of fast and accurate sandwiches, as well as world-class customer service while maintaining a clean, organized shift.
Duties and Resposibilities:
  • Mastery of slicing and inshop position. Ability to perform all duties of these positions as needed including making a sandwich in 30 seconds or less.
  • Responsibility of supervision of 3-25 employees during shift.
  • Provides on-the-job training for employees during shift and at the direction of management.
  • Provides feedback and documentation to management to for coaching and corrective action of poor or underperforming employees.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties and work conditions.
  • Responsible for minimizing food and labor waste during shift.
  • Assists in the supervision of the preparation, sales, and service of food.
  • Forecasts food items. Estimates what amount of each food item will be consumed per shift.
  • Supervises food preparation and service operations. Assists inshoppers during rush periods to ensure the maintenance of restaurant efficiency.
  • Assists inshoppers in greeting customers, taking orders, using the cash register, assembling order and checking for completeness and correctness.
  • Ability to provide customers with world-class customer service.
  • Responsible for responding to and resolving customer complaints quickly as they arise, including providing coaching and corrective action to course correct service related employee performance.
  • Routes deliveries and assists drivers to maximize delivery speed.
  • Completes daily food preparation (opening procedures, meat and vegetable slicing, bread production).
  • Completes daily opening and closing procedures with accuracy, consistency and per guidelines.
  • Executes systems and procedures with 100% integrity and completeness.
  • Completes daily paperwork during shifts accurately and timely.
  • Responsible for 100% of the cash drawers at all times during the shift.
  • Receives and stores product.
  • Audits previous shifts systems and procedures for 100% integrity and completeness.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and as business needs require.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills. Self-reliant, results-oriented.
  • Ability to respond to and resolve customer concerns and complaints.
  • Ability to handle stress and high-volume operations.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision. Ability to work independently/self-motivated, highly organized.
  • Management of Personnel Resources - Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job. Ability to respond to and resolve employee issues.
  • Must be able to read and write and communicate in English and the ability to speak clearly so others can understand you. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reading Comprehension; understanding sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  • Willing to work overtime, holidays, early mornings, evenings and weekends as business dictates.
  • Customer Service. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Social Perceptiveness: awareness of others reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
  • Deductive Reasoning; the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

Qualifications, Certifications, & Licenses:
  • ServeSafe Certification (opportunity to acquire provided).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with reliable transportation.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Current automobile insurance and requirement to maintain current at all times.
  • Fluency in English, Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Oversee operations and performance of employees for assigned shift.
  • Ability to supervise 3-25 employees during a scheduled shift.

Travel:
  • Limited travel expected for this position. Primarily car travel; limited flight and overnight travel expected for this position.

Work Environment:
  • This job operates in a fast past, fast food environment.
  • Occasional exposure to outside elements as well as music, telephones, ovens, equipment timers.
  • Uses knives and operates equipment with moving parts.
  • Exposure to household cleaning products/chemicals, such as: bleach and ammonia.

Physical Demands:
  • Work includes pressure generated by deadlines, peak workload periods and frequent interruptions.
  • Constant talking or hearing, use of vision.
  • Use of standard office equipment, typing on a computer.
  • Performance of repetitive motions, use of manual dexterity/motor skills.
  • Frequent walking, stooping and kneeling; standing and moving about the unit the entire workday.
  • Frequent leaning, twisting.
  • Rarely [but occasionally the need will arise for] crawling, climbing, balancing or use of heavy machinery.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects above fifty (50) pounds.
