Job description

Reliance is a construction services firm located in Indianapolis, Indiana, providing tailored commissioning, test and balance, construction quality assurance, and procurement solutions. Our team delivers exceptional client-specific services for new installations and facility renovations.

As a Construction Quality Assurance Engineer, you will operate as part of a team that delivers new and modified systems that are safe, functional, and compliant with design requirements and regulations. The Construction Quality Assurance Engineer will assist the construction project management team in coordinating all aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This is a full-time, 1st shift position that reports to the Project Manager and reports to the job site daily.

Primary responsibilities of the position include:

  • Assist the General Contractor and Owner’s Construction Quality Assurance teams with implementing the project-specific QA/QC plan.
  • Manage all subcontractor inspection, testing, and documentation requirements per project specifications.
  • Communicate with contractors’ QA/QC representatives to ensure the process is being followed proactively and sequenced, not a reactive response at the project's end.
  • Investigate construction quality deficiencies to ensure effective corrective actions are implemented and documented.
  • Manage and maintain quality deficiencies through the project management software with other team members. This may include entering issues, managing contractor issues, tracking issue resolution, and managing reports. Resolve day-to-day issues that may arise to ensure project deliverables are met. 
  • Gain technical knowledge of individual equipment and systems; apply knowledge to project work.
  • Proactively communicate with clients, project managers, and team members, with professionalism and a commitment to quality.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure completion of all duties and tasks assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance at work. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Company Management. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 0–4 years of experience in engineering, construction, commissioning, or related technical field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to project software preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
