Wieland is hiring a Maintenance & Engineering Manager. The Maintenance & Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the departments’ efforts to accomplish organizational objectives. This key role will coordinate the planning and execution of improvements in equipment reliability, capital investment, and facility improvements. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site. 


Maintenance & Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

  • Downtime:
    a. Lead maintenance teams to identify root causes of downtime events & drive permanent corrective actions.
    b. Track and maintain equipment downtime metrics.
    c. Coordinate scheduling of maintenance PMs across shifts & departments and drive to 100% completion and effectiveness.
    d. Ensure compliance to PM schedule and Run Time Inspection schedule through metric tracking & process audits.
    e. Work with operations to support & improve operator-based PM activities.
    f. Develop and lead predictive analysis efforts.
  • Development and Staff:
    a. Develop the technical and behavioral skill-sets of the department through both internal and external training, auditing and appropriate metrics to drive improvement.
    b. Train & inform maintenance associates to understand metrics of the departments they support regarding safety, quality, delivery and costs.
    c. Direct electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic staff specialist.
  • Capital Management:
    a. Responsible for implementation of capital projects exceeding $50mm to include vendor selection, equipment approval and equipment installation.
    b. Budget conformance to assigned projects.
    c. Serve as or provide technical resource for equipment in support of capital equipment purchases, modifications, and process development.

Maintenance & Engineering Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but extensive industry experience considered.
  • 5-10 years of industry experience; Maintenance / Engineering focus preferred.
  • Deals effectively with all levels of personnel, internal and external.
  • Strong analytical, engineering, or industry specific technical skills.
