Engineer I, Reliability Engineering

Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability, System Safety, and Supportability.

Raytheon currently has an exciting Engineer 1, Reliability Engineering position available in our Land and Strategic Missile Defense business area that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place.

What You Will Do:

  • Support reliability predictions and analyses for the Patriot missile system under guidance from senior engineers
  • Participate in design reviews to assess reliability, maintainability, and risk
  • Assist with failure analysis and root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to support customer satisfaction and mission success
  • Support technical activities across various stages of missile operations, including field return evaluation, assembly/disassembly support, and preparation for flight tests
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, test) to support test data analysis and reliability trending
  • Prepare and present technical information, analyses, and summaries to engineering teams and management with mentorship

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date
  • Coursework or academic projects related to reliability, statistics, systems engineering, or electrical engineering
  • Ability to analyze data and apply engineering fundamentals to solve technical problems

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Electrical or reliability engineering degree
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects and customer requests in a fast-paced operations environment
  • Internship, co-op, or academic project experience related to reliability, quality, test, or systems engineering
  • Familiarity with reliability concepts such as failure modes, life data analysis, or statistical modeling
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, or presenting data using tools such as Excel, MATLAB, Python, or SQL
  • Exposure to scripting or data organization for basic trending or analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical material to varied audiences

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
