Lead Maintenance Excellence in a Growing Manufacturing Environment
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Reliability Manager to lead maintenance operations at a manufacturing facility in North Bay, Ontario. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maximizing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, improving production efficiency, and supporting future automation and plant improvement initiatives.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will oversee maintenance strategy, team leadership, capital projects, and continuous improvement efforts while ensuring a safe and productive operation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability.
  • Drive a reliability-focused culture through Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, product quality, operator safety, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Manage maintenance KPIs, work order systems, and asset performance through CMMS platforms.
  • Oversee plant equipment upgrades, installations, and capital improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, safety, finance, and other departments to support operational goals.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, forecasts, and project business cases.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support future automation and modernization initiatives within the facility.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a skilled trade, engineering technology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing, industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environment.
  • Experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Proven success leading maintenance teams and driving continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience supporting mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Project management experience involving equipment upgrades, installations, or facility improvements.
  • Experience with machining, millwrighting, electrical systems, robotics, welding, or CNC equipment is considered an asset.
