Maintenance Engineer - Decatur, IL
This is a full time, exempt-level position
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer will focus on improving plant reliability by incorporating precision maintenance practices into equipment repairs and rebuilds, training and coaching of maintenance technicians as well as developing/updating standard operational processes and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Comply fully with local and ADM's safety regulations/standards and promote safety culture.
  • Help ensure the maintenance department achieves their goals for safety, health, environmental, product quality, processing, costs, efficiency, and reliability
  • Ensure current standard methodologies(elements) are effectively communicated and implemented throughout the operations as agreed to by the business.
  • Responsible for providing technical expertise to the Maintenance Team to improve the overall equipment efficiency/systems performance and reliability.
  • Contributes to the analysis of actual equipment design and assists in the performance of failure mode and effect analysis.
  • Works with Engineering Teams to develop new approaches for maintaining new and existing equipment.
  • Lead/Assist AFE Projects as needed to ensure efficiency and completion within budget.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to mechanics, engineers and contractors on Maintenance Strategies and Technologies.
  • Writes and update maintenance procedures and all pertinent documents.
  • Supports execution of RCM process on existing equipment.
  • Works with Planner to improve planning process and develop job plans thru periodic job audits.
  • Maintains communications between maintenance, engineering, and technical projects
  • Integrate PM's and predictive/diagnostic work into the Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Audits compliance for Food Safety and Quality Precision Maintenance into the Maintenance Program.
Job Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field plus 10+ years of industrial manufacturing experience in a food, feed or chemical continuous manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing industrial and contract maintenance
  • Hands-on experience working in an industrial maintenance capacity and experience rebuilding machinery
  • Knowledge and a basic understanding of the processes related to maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Computerized Maintenance Systems, (CMMS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work productively within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and an ability to build and maintain trust and strengthen relationships
  • A positive attitude and the ability to embrace and support change in a dynamic manufacturing environment
