Position scope
  • St. Croix Tissue is seeking a Reliability Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical and strategic expertise in terms of life cycle asset management implementation and the associated practices, to ensure maximum possible equipment reliability at minimum life cycle cost. This will be accomplished by process mapping and improvements in equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability that optimizes asset life cycle costs perform basic product design, testing and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project.
Roles & reponsiblities
  • Develop equipment system and location hierarchy.
  • Perform critical analysis and determine risk priority numbers for various equipment.
  • Perform RCM/FMEA for equipment.
  • Develop equipment maintenance plans that contain failure modes mapped to technologies or tasks.
  • Create both predictive and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Level load optimized reliability-based maintenance strategies.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the reliability-based maintenance strategy master plan.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Define reliability-based queries and reports to support a continuous improvement process.
Required skills
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and present technical information using practical judgment.
  • Capable of functioning effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Excel pivot tables and charting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage concurrent activities.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Skill in using reliability prediction and calculation techniques for both repairable and non-repairable systems.
  • CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer) certification through ASQ (American Society of Quality) or CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professionals) certification through SMRP (Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals.
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodology.
  • Experience in one or more related engineering areas: design, test, manufacturing, or quality.
  • Experience in use of statistical tools and techniques for reliability management.
  • Understanding of product reliability goals, reliability growth, and reliability prediction
  • Experience in applying thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic analysis, vibration analysis, and motor analysis and associated performance trending programs,
  • 5 to 15 years’ experience in reliability engineering related processes.
  • Expertise in one or more areas of maintenance and reliability, material management, planning and scheduling, and/or CMMS / EAM / ERP optimization is desired.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Reliability, Quality, Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear Engineering, Math, Physics, or equivalent experience.
Working Conditions

  • Includes working in an office, as well as supervising operations within the plant.
  • Includes following detailed mill safety and environmental procedures.
  • The company will provide training regarding union contracts, various reporting softwares used including meeting environmental and safety objectives.
  • Will also provide training to make sure the candidate is trained in Reliability Excellence initiatives such as work requests regarding the CMMS system.
  • There is also room for advancement or changing of work area, if so desired. This position will report to the Production Manager.
