Job Title: Senior Scrum Master
Job Category: Information Technology

Anticipated Posting End: 9/1/2026
The Opportunity:
  • Guide high-performing Agile teams delivering GEOINT capabilities to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
  • Serve as a servant leader within a multi-team Agile Release Train operating under the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Coach teams toward continuous improvement, predictable delivery, and Agile maturity.
  • Work alongside experienced Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and an RTE in a well-established delivery organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate team ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and PI Planning.
  • Coach teams on Scrum and SAFe principles with a focus on flow, quality, and relentless improvement.
  • Identify and remove impediments; escalate cross-team issues to the Release Train Engineer as needed.
  • Track and communicate team metrics (velocity, predictability, flow) and drive data-informed improvement.
  • Protect teams from scope creep and support delivery against Program Increment commitments.
  • Coordinate dependencies with other teams across the Agile Release Train.
  • Partner with Product Owners on backlog refinement, story quality, and acceptance criteria.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (equivalent experience accepted).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including 4+ years as a Scrum Master for software development teams.
  • Experience operating within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) on a multi-team program.
  • Hands-on expertise with Jira for Agile tracking, dashboards, and metrics.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent certification.
  • Security Clearance (TS/SCI) with willingness to undergo polygraph examination.

Desired:
• Experience facilitating multiple teams or supporting an RTE.
• Technical background in software development or systems engineering.
• Advanced SAFe certification (SASM, SPC).

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$75,200-$158,100
