Job description

The Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for the operational oversight of an assigned client caseload and census within the branch.
This role governs staffing, recruiting, scheduling, and relationship management to ensure patients are appropriately served and coverage is maintained. The Relationship Manager drives continuity of care, supports census stability, and ensures assigned cases are staffed efficiently and sustainably.
Reports To: Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Exempt
Core Responsibilities
Caseload & Census Governance
  • Maintain overall accountability for assigned caseload and census performance.
  • Provide staffing coverage for a typical caseload range which will vary by branch location.
  • Staff open shifts for assigned cases and proactively address coverage gaps.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours phone calls and staffing needs.

Core Responsibilities
Caseload & Census Governance
  • Maintain overall accountability for assigned caseload and census performance.
  • Provide staffing coverage for a typical caseload range which will vary by branch location.
  • Staff open shifts for assigned cases and proactively address coverage gaps.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours phone calls and staffing needs.

Relationship & Communication Management
  • Maintain frequent and professional communication with families regarding staffing updates and care coordination.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with field staff to support retention and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Case Managers, and Caregivers to coordinate operational and care needs.
  • Promote positive working relationships that support patient satisfaction and branch stability.

Operational & Financial Support
  • Support achievement of branch financial metrics through effective staffing and census management.
  • Ensure accurate payroll verification in coordination with branch staff.
  • Oversee referral and intake coordination as assigned.
  • Ensure insurance eligibility and authorization requirements are addressed appropriately.
  • Adhere to company policies, state and federal regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, and company information.
  • Maintain cross-functional collaboration with all branch departments ensuring processes and standards remain compliant.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage caseloads, staffing coverage, and recruiting priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of recruiting strategies and healthcare staffing processes.
  • Effective leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Business preferred.
  • Minimum one year of management experience in healthcare; home health experience preferred.
