Davidson Kempner Capital Management LP is a global investment management firm. Founded in 1983, Davidson Kempner is headquartered in New York and has offices in Philadelphia, London, Dublin, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Mumbai and Abu Dhabi. Our Firm invests globally and opportunistically across the capital structure, in a variety of credit and equity strategies as well as real assets. We apply our multi-dimensional, research-driven investment process to evaluate and execute a diverse range of transactions across asset classes, geographies and market cycles. We target complex, global situations where our experience and expertise can unlock value.

We bring together exceptional people from different disciplines and backgrounds who are energized by the challenges of navigating complexity. We look for people who demonstrate exceptional critical thinking skills, innate curiosity, creativity and embrace diverse viewpoints to calibrate their decisions. These differentiators make our people successful beyond a specific job at Davidson Kempner - but throughout their journey with us over many years.

Role Description:ย  Davidson Kempner's Asset Management department supports our investment team in managing the day to day of the Firm's Asset Backed Finance platforms, loan portfolios and real estate/structured product/transportation assets with the goal of maximizing performance. This is not a purely process-driven role. It is an opportunity to take ownership of outcomes, improve systems, and act as a trusted partner to investment teams.

Role Overview

  • Act as a central coordinator between investment teams, lenders, calculation agents, servicers, trustees, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely transaction execution.
  • Execute complex workflows across multiple asset classes, deals and counterparties.
  • Maintain control over cash movements, reporting deliverables, and portfolio data with a strong focus on data integrity & analytics.
  • Support both ongoing asset management and new originations, including deal onboarding, diligence coordination, and transaction funding.

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • Communication: communicate ideas clearly and concisely with a range of stakeholders.
  • Analytical: analyze and interpret data to identify trends to support business decisions. Comfortable in the details, but also able to interpret the big picture.
  • Project Management: manage multiple competing tasks while identifying and prioritizing time-sensitive items with a sense of urgency, while being diligent and detailed-oriented.
    • Ability to generate a plan to overcome project barriers.
  • Relationship Management: cultivate trust and build relationships with business partners, servicers, and internal teams.
  • Innovation: continuously improve and optimize existing processes and structures for efficiency and scale.
  • Adaptability: Ability to learn quickly, operate in ambiguity, and adjust to changing priorities.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:ย

  • Demonstration of academic excellence
  • Advanced Excel skills (a must).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail and ability to multi-task. High energy and comfortable functioning in a dynamic environment
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Intellectually curious, driven and motivated. Interest in financial markets and investment management.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills and a well-developed understanding of key investment performance drivers.
  • CPA/CFA designation, and/or MBA degree, a plus
