Job description

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we’re looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don’t shy away from humanity’s challenges but are determined to help solve them.

AMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward.

We’re looking for a University Relations (UR) Recruiter to support technical and functional hiring across one or more business units. This is a contract position based in Austin and follows a hybrid schedule, with in-person presence required for key campus events and intern engagements.

About You

You are a recruiter who is energized by engaging with the next generation of talent. You take ownership of the full recruitment lifecycle—from sourcing top student talent and presenting candidates to business leaders, to guiding offers and driving intern conversions. You\'re collaborative, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Your work directly contributes to AMD’s goal of hiring the best student talent from top-tier universities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for interns and intern conversions, primarily for technical roles
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to define role requirements and drive hiring decisions
  • Deliver a strong candidate experience, from outreach through onboarding
  • Drive a 50%+ intern conversion rate by engaging eligible graduating interns early
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple business units
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance in the Applicant Tracking System
  • Support local recruiting and internship events (on-site attendance required)
  • Contribute to various University Relations initiatives and projects as assigned
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Passion for university hiring and early-career talent development
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence across teams
  • Experience using ATS platforms and sourcing tools
  • Comfortable managing multiple roles and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Confident in resolving issues, managing expectations, and building trust
Qualifications
  • Experience working with college/university student populations strongly preferred

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
