Public Relations Manager

Position Overview

FB Society is looking for a Public Relations Manager to drive earned media and storytelling across FB Society and our portfolio of restaurant brands.

We're looking for an exceptional writer with strong media instincts, established relationships with journalists and a track record of turning ideas into meaningful stories and content.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role for someone who loves hospitality, building relationships and writing great content.

What You'll Do

Media Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional and national media across food, hospitality, lifestyle, business, travel and other relevant categories.
  • Proactively pitch reporters, editors and producers to secure meaningful earned media coverage for our brands.
  • Develop creative story angles tied to our brands, people, growth and industry trends.
  • Respond to inbound media requests and coordinate interviews, briefings and follow-up.
  • Build targeted media lists and coordinate media visits, interviews, influencer experiences and other press opportunities.
  • Monitor media coverage, track earned media results and use Muck Rack or similar tools to research journalists and identify opportunities.

Writing & Storytelling

  • Write media pitches, press releases, talking points, executive messaging, award submissions, briefing documents and other communications materials.
  • Create and publish content for FB Society's LinkedIn presence, including company news, media coverage, leadership perspectives and brand stories.
  • Adapt messaging for different audiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
  • Interview leaders, chefs and team members to uncover stories and perspectives connecting them to broader brand and company priorities.

PR Strategy & Brand Initiatives

  • Partner with the Vice President of Marketing & Communications to execute PR strategies across FB Society and its portfolio of brands.
  • Stay current on media trends, cultural conversations and the hospitality industry to identify opportunities.
  • Help manage FB Society's philanthropic efforts, including partnerships, events, communications and community initiatives.
  • Support restaurant openings, events, partnerships and other major brand moments.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with brand marketing, operations, culinary and leadership teams to uncover stories and gather information.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and become a trusted resource for communications and messaging.
  • Manage multiple brands, projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Coordinate with external PR agencies and partners when needed.
  • Prepare executives and spokespeople for interviews with key messages, background information and anticipated questions.
  • Be available to support restaurant openings, media opportunities and events that may occasionally require evenings or weekends.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of public relations, media relations or communications experience.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills. Great writing is essential for this role.
  • Proven experience proactively pitching media and securing earned coverage.
  • Established relationships with journalists, editors and producers.
  • Strong storytelling instincts and the ability to recognize what makes something newsworthy.
  • Ability to ladder individual stories up to larger brand and company messages.
  • Strong understanding of print, digital, broadcast and social media.
  • Naturally curious and interested in hospitality, food, business and culture.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple brands and priorities.
  • Collaborative working style with strong follow-through.
  • Experience with Muck Rack or similar media relations and monitoring platforms preferred.
  • Hospitality, restaurant, lifestyle or consumer brand experience is a plus.
