We have an exciting opportunity for a team lead in reinsurance operations supporting Business Services (Treaty & Facultative), Claims Operations and Technical Accounting!

About the Role

This team lead position will have the opportunity to help develop a North America team to support the Canada Market Unit (MU) level reinsurance operations.

Focusing on key operational metrics, you will drive performance and excellence, stakeholder engagement, and team development while ensuring strong governance, data quality, and service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage capacity planning, resource allocation, and workload balancing.
  • Build strong partnerships with underwriting, finance, and claims stakeholders.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for digitization, automation, and process simplification.
  • Support the rollout and stabilization of new services and delivery models in North America.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex operational issues.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop talent through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Maintain a strong control environment and audit ready operations, embedding sustainable remediation actions where required.

This role requires leadership ability to both drive continuous improvement through data, analytics, and performance insights and collaborate with regional and global partners to align operating models and best practices.

In this role you will also need strategic thinking abilities to translate objectives into effective operational execution and lead through change and transformation initiatives.

About the Team

This team will sit within the Business Operations North America department in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Reinsurance division.

You'll be joining a collaborative, high-ownership team that values strong partnerships, clear accountability, and a continuous-improvement mindset. We work end-to-end across functions and locations, bringing structure, curiosity, and a practical focus on simplifying processes and delivering great service to our stakeholders.

About You

You have experience leading people and a strong operational mindset.  You are comfortable balancing strategic oversight with hands on execution and bring structure to complex environments, challenge constructively, and lead with accountability.

Additional requirements include:

  • University degree required; Business, Finance, Accounting, Insurance, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in reinsurance or insurance operations
  • 2+ years' experience leading people successfully, preferably in operations or underwriting support teams within reinsurance, insurance, or financial services
  • Strong understanding of the reinsurance lifecycle and operational processes
  • Demonstrated ability to stabilize and scale service delivery while leading change
  • Successful track record owning KPIs, capacity planning, and service performance in a matrix, multi-location environment
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint)

Our company uses a hybrid work model requiring at least three days in the office each week, with the option to work onsite full-time if preferred.  This position is not eligible for full-time telework or visa sponsorship.
