Job description

You could be pioneering a new role with us within Reinsurance Business Operations increasing our support for Reinsurance Property & Casualty Markets underwriting and client management!
About the Role
Working closely with Underwriting, you will support deal acquisition activities/analysis and portfolio overviews, and ensure decisions are made based on the most up-to-date and reliable information. You would also be responsible for overall business coordination of an assigned business segment, including ensuring statutory and internal control guidelines are met.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Check contract terms and conditions, analyze submission data, investigate, and resolve data issues, review, and report treaty exposure data (Year-over-Year developments, material changes) and load information to costing tools
  • Communicate directly with clients, clarify, and follow up on any issues and potentially be part of negotiations
  • Enter contractual deal information into systems for consumption by other functions, such as Finance, Accounting, Claims and Reserving

We are a friendly and diverse group of individuals located in U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Brazil with varying levels of experience in the reinsurance industry. We support North America Property and Casualty Reinsurance teams and units in delivering on their core mandates. We are part of a global team called Reinsurance Business Operations, and we work closely with our colleagues all over the globe.
About You
You're a strategic and creative thinker when dealing with challenges and opportunities. Your strong interpersonal skills make it easier for you to work within a team and you thrive managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Flexibility and curiosity play a role in your ability to learn new skills quickly.
Essential requirements also include:
  • University graduate with a degree in natural science or a quantitative field (Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Actuarial Sciences)
  • Minimum one year of experience within the Property & Casualty (Re)insurance industry
  • Data savviness and attention to detail, high level of confidence/practical know how in working with large data files (e.g., NatCat data), MS excel expert skills
  • Competent in Microsoft 365 suite, i.e., Power BI, Sharepoint, Powerpoint and Word

Nice to Haves:
  • Data modelling and/or previous underwriting experience
  • Ambitious and energetic, seeking out new solutions and ways of working
  • Adaptable thrive in a work environment where new relationships and projects constantly emerge
  • Adeptly prioritize competing tasks and manage timelines

Our company uses a hybrid work model requiring at least three days in the office each week, with the option to work onsite full-time if preferred. This position is not eligible for full-time telework or visa sponsorship.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $52,000 to $78,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
