Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while promoting patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized care plan.
  • Identify patient education needs and goals based on nursing admission assessments and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Provide timely patient information and documentation in accordance with policy.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure accountability for direct patient care.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to relevant care providers.
  • Supervise ancillary nursing personnel and provide training, direction, and delegation as necessary.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning, including team building activities.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and clinical training.
  • Assume charge responsibility when requested, following the orientation period.
  • Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
  • Previous inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
