Job description

Description

Park DuValle Community Health Center is seeking a Registration Clerk to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming experience while ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, payment collection, and record management. The ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and assist with the registration and check-in process.
  • Collect, verify, and update demographic, insurance, and other required patient information.
  • Collect, process, and accurately post patient payments to patient accounts.
  • Accurately enter patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and assist patients with questions regarding coverage and registration requirements.
  • Schedule appointments and help manage patient flow to support efficient clinic operations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and other departments to coordinate patient care.
  • Address patient inquiries and resolve registration, scheduling, or billing-related concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; coursework or training in healthcare administration is a plus.ย 
  • Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or customer service role.ย 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.ย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.ย 
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical record systems.ย 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.ย 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a professional, patient-centered approach.ย 
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
