A Brief Overview
This is a Full Time 36 hour a week position located primarily at Buerger, however candidate may need to work at one of the satellite sites (Bucks, Abington, KOP or Virtua)- whichever is closest to the candidate geographically.
No weekends and No holidays. The shift will vary with start times of 7:30, 8 and 8:30 - 8 hour shift with 30 minutes for lunch. No set days.
Requirement is Associate degree and two (2) years pulmonary lab or pediatric respiratory care experience.
The Pulmonary Function Technologist is responsible for performing modalities of pulmonary diagnostic testing offered by the PFT lab with minimal guidance. Provides age appropriate services to infant, adolescent, and adult patients. Performs calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting on equipment within the lab's scope. Professionally interacts with vendors, patients, family members, regulatory agencies, and other medical professionals.
What you will do
- Performs routine and specialty pulmonary function testing efficiently, while achieving ATS standards.
- Participates in research projects supported through the lab by learning new techniques and skills to follow studies' required protocols.
- Teaches skills and provides knowledge to aid department in providing education and orientation.
Education Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least two (2) years pulmonary lab or pediatric respiratory care experience Required

- Calmness under pressure, while prioritizing and simultaneously handling multiple tasks.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in setting priorities and finding appropriate resources for specific testing.
- Ability to apply scientific principles within the framework of the lab.
- Good telephone interaction for assisting in scheduling.
- Computer literacy for performing testing as well as editing data.
- Exhibit a commitment to learning new and evolving procedures.
