Registered Nurse (RN) Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents, administering medications and treatments, monitoring resident conditions, and ensuring the highest level of quality care. The RN supervises nursing staff, collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and promotes the health, safety, and well-being of all residents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess residents' conditions and identify nursing care needs.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and report significant findings.

  • Perform accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.

  • Supervise and support nursing assistants and other nursing personnel.

  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.

  • Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.

  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.

  • Current, active, and unencumbered Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
