Will AI eventually replace medical coders?

Registered Medical Coders use specialized knowledge to review and assign medical codes based on clinical documentation. While AI tools can assist with coding accuracy and efficiency, human oversight remains essential to interpret complex cases and ensure compliance, making full replacement unlikely in the near future.
