The Regional Safety Coordinator supports the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and best practices across job sites and operations within an assigned region. This role helps ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations while promoting a proactive culture of safety and operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safety Support and Compliance:
- Support the Regional Safety Manager in executing the company's safety programs consistently across the region.
- Act with Integrity by adhering to safety policies, promoting ethical decision-making, and supporting regulatory compliance.
- Track and report on departmental KPIs, assisting the Regional Safety Manager in maintaining team accountability.
- Assist with field-level coordination of safety activities, ensuring consistent program execution across job sites.
Program Coordination:
- Assist with implementing policies, procedures, and training programs to maintain OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable compliance.
- Support risk assessment processes, including JHAs (Job Hazard Analyses), incident investigation protocols, and safety audits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that elevate safety performance.
- Assist in preparing and submitting required regulatory reports, permits, and documentation.
- Coordinate the company OQ program, assist with training facilitation and tracking of OQ qualifications.
- Support initiatives to improve safety culture, employee engagement, and accountability at all levels.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with environmental regulations including spill prevention, reporting, and site environmental controls.
Incident Response and Investigation:
- Support investigations of incidents, near misses, and safety complaints under the direction of the Regional Safety Manager.
- Assist with developing and implementing corrective action plans in partnership with leadership.
- Participate in investigations with Integrity and objectivity, contributing to accurate root cause analysis.
- Assist the Regional Safety Manager in interfacing with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and inquiries.
Training and Development:
- Coordinate and deliver company safety training programs.
- Foster Teamwork by building strong partnerships with field and operational leaders to support effective training delivery.
- Assist with the rollout of new safety policies, technologies, and compliance initiatives.
- Coach field personnel on safety expectations and best practices.
Field Engagement:
- Conduct field visits and site inspections to assess compliance and coach crews.
- Demonstrate Teamwork through active field presence and collaboration with crews, managers, and superintendents.
- Collaborate with managers and superintendents to integrate safety planning into job execution.
- Assist with the development of site-specific safety plans and hazard mitigation strategies.
Qualification Requirements
Experience:
- 2-4 years of HS&E experience in construction or related high-hazard environments (e.g., trenching, confined space, heavy equipment, pipeline, or industrial work).
- Experience supporting or coordinating compliance programs.
Certifications:
- OSHA 30 required.
- OSHA 500 preferred.
- CHST, CHSO or similar safety certifications a plus.
Licensing:
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Required Skills
Construction HS&E Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of construction HS&E (Health, Safety, and Environmental) standards.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in computer-based programs (e.g., Word, Excel, SharePoint).
Communication Skills:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop clear and engaging safety content.
Analytical & Decision-Making Skills:
- Ability to interpret safety data and support data-driven decisions.
Project Management & Organizational Skills:
- Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple priorities.
Collaboration & Independence:
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
