Job description

Position Summary
The Regional Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, market penetration, and brand execution within an assigned geographic region. Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing, this role leads regional sales teams, executes corporate sales and marketing strategies, and ensures consistent performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across the region.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver regional sales targets, revenue goals, and growth initiatives
  • Develop and execute regional sales plans aligned with company-wide strategy
  • Manage, coach, and develop regional sales managers, reps, or territory teams
  • Monitor sales pipeline, forecasting, and performance metrics
  • Implement national and regional marketing campaigns within the territory
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning
  • Support local promotions, trade shows, events, and customer engagement activities
  • Gather market feedback to inform marketing and product strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and distributors
  • Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive activity
  • Address customer issues, escalations, and retention opportunities
  • Attend product schools and development courses
  • Set performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, and Finance teams
  • Ensure alignment between sales execution, marketing initiatives, and operational capabilities
  • Communicate regional performance, risks, and opportunities to the VP of Sales & Marketing
  • Product school training will be required
  • Track and report KPIs such as revenue, margin, pipeline, conversion rates, and market share
  • Analyze regional performance and recommend corrective actions or improvements
  • Manage regional budgets, expenses, and forecasting accuracy
  • Ability to travel within the assigned region up to 90%


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field
  • 5–10+ years of progressive experience in sales or regional management
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing multi-location or multi-territory teams
  • Industry experience in [insert industry, e.g., manufacturing, SaaS, distribution, retail]
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales analytics tools


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk, using a computer, and participating in virtual meetings
  • Ability to stand and walk for moderate periods during customer visits, meetings, conferences, and trade shows
  • Ability to travel frequently by car and/or airplane within the assigned region, including overnight stays
  • Ability to lift and carry light materials (typically up to 15–25 pounds), such as laptops, sample products, marketing materials, or presentation equipment
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and mobile devices
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via video conferencing
  • Visual ability to review documents, presentations, contracts, and electronic displays
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer, mobile devices, and presentation tools
