Sonshine Cleaning | Dayton, OH

Sonshine Cleaning is a locally owned commercial cleaning and facility services company serving offices, medical facilities, universities, recreation centers, and multi-tenant buildings across the Dayton region. With roughly 140 employees and continued growth, this role is a key leadership position responsible for stabilizing operations, supporting growth, and developing a strong management team.

About the Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading multiple commercial cleaning accounts by developing employees, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring consistent service quality across assigned locations. This is a hands-on, field-based leadership role focused on training teams, conducting inspections, solving operational issues, and proactively improving performance rather than simply reacting to problems.

This position is primarily second shift (2–10pm) to align with when most teams are working.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support a portfolio of commercial cleaning accounts across the Dayton region
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop cleaning employees
  • Visit customer locations to perform quality inspections and support your teams
  • Build strong relationships with employees and customers
  • Respond quickly to staffing issues, call-offs, and customer concerns
  • Identify root causes of recurring problems and implement lasting solutions
  • Complete operational reporting, scheduling, expense reports, and documentation
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and leadership team to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Jump in and help clean when necessary to support your team

What We’re Looking For

  • 3-5+ years of leadership or operations management experience
  • Experience leading hourly employees in a service-based environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Comfortable working independently in the field
  • Coachable, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Proficient with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Quarterly performance bonus opportunities
  • Company vehicle and phone
  • Medical insurance options
  • IRA with company match
  • Growth opportunity

Why Join Sonshine

  • Be part of a growing company where you can make a visible impact.
  • Work directly with leadership in an environment that values initiative, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Help build great teams while creating exceptional experiences for customers.
  • Enjoy the autonomy to solve problems, improve processes, and influence the culture.
  • Grow your career as the company continues to expand.
