Job description

Position Title: Operations Manager                                                        Reports to: Regional Manager

Department: Operations Management                                            Position Type: Exempt / Full-time

 

The Branch Manager’s main goal is to maintain or increase the branch revenue by meeting the customer’s needs. The success for this role will be measured by the builder’s acceptance of the work performed, time to complete it, and quality provided. This role includes monitoring and coordinating of all field, warehouse, and office operations, which includes safety, labor, inventory, and P&L of the location. 

 

Essential Job Functions

·         Customer communication and relations including the ability to resolve, de-escalate, or anticipate any potential issues.

·         Conduct weekly meetings with staff to monitor workflow and deadlines.

·         Ensure that the field staff adheres to builders’ scheduled timeline for installation. 

·         Acts as primary point of contact for vendors.

·         Assist sales staff in pursuing and retaining sales and business development opportunities.

·         Recruit and retain adequate subcontractor labor pool.

·         Audit installer back charges.

·         Oversee inventory control and logistics to ensure efficient order fulfillment, delivery, and installation.

·         Coordinate with Human Resources for recruitment, performance, and development needs.

·         Develop current and future staff to ensure growth from within the team.

·         Other management, administrative, and/or clerical duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

·         High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred. 

·         Management experience in the construction industry.  Flooring management experience, preferred.

·         Strong negotiation skills, conflict resolutions skills, and leadership abilities.

·         Prior experience using scheduling software, JDE, Microsoft Office, and ERP software.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good eye for detail.

·         Thinking outside the box to ensure customer (builder) retention.

 

Other Requirements

·         This role would require the ability to lift, push, and/or pull loads in excess of 50 lb.

·         Fundamental mathematical comprehension required.

·         Ability to multi-task is required.

·         Deep understanding of flooring materials (hardwood, tile, LVP, carpet) and other materials as needed (cabinets, countertops, specialty products)

·         Valid Florida driver’s license and clean MVR required. 

·         Travel required.
