Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Retail Specialist acts as the primary communication liaison between Merchandising, Retail Stores and Store operations. They partner closely with Visual Merchandising team to develop merchandising standards, signage, drive aisle assortments and fixtures. This role works with Merchants to develop appropriate regional and store specific assortments and displays. This position must be analytical, customer service focused and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. The Retail Specialist role exposes team member to broad spectrum of operations within the company and offers development of a wide variety of skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Analyzes Sales and Inventory data to detect trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Reviews sales reports by Region/Store to identify under/over-performing stores and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Uses Sales and Inventory data to help Stores and Merchant Teams optimize customer service levels and inventory productivity.
  • Acts as a liaison between Merchants and Stores on assortment needs, fixture needs, stock levels, space planning and capacity issues.
  • Manages the flow of information and communication of brand priorities, promotions and new product launches to the retail teams.
  • Manages customer requests and special orders in a timely manner.
  • Manages new store openings and travels to locations for assortment set up and outfitter training.
  • Owns an element of the on-boarding process for new hires.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Preferred Degree: BS Degree in Business or a related field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret meaningful trends from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Able to maintain and build effective relationships with peers and cross-functional team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel with aptitude to learn new systems quickly
  • Clear communication skills- written and verbal
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes
  • Strong attention to detail

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Some travel is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regularly walks, sits, stands and performs computer work
  • Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
