What does a regional manager do?

A Regional Manager oversees operations, sales, and staff within a specific geographic area for a company. They are responsible for ensuring that their region meets company goals, implements policies, and maintains high standards of customer service. Regional Managers analyze performance data, provide guidance to local managers, and develop strategies to improve productivity and profitability. They often travel within their region to visit branches or stores, handle escalated issues, and report progress to upper management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a regional manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Regional Manager, you need strong leadership abilities, strategic planning skills, and a track record in sales or operations management, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems, data analytics tools, and budgeting software is typically required. Exceptional communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills help Regional Managers motivate teams and manage diverse challenges across multiple locations. These competencies are crucial for driving regional growth, ensuring operational consistency, and achieving organizational goals.

How does a regional manager typically balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational responsibilities?

A Regional Manager often balances strategic planning with daily operations by setting clear regional goals and delegating routine tasks to local managers. They regularly review performance metrics, address escalated issues, and identify growth opportunities while ensuring that company policies are consistently implemented across locations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—such as sales, HR, and logistics—is common, allowing Regional Managers to stay aligned with overall business objectives while remaining responsive to immediate operational needs. Effective time management and prioritization are key to succeeding in this dual-focused role.

About the Job

Insurcomm Restoration is not just running branches-we are building a platform for multi-site operational excellence, one market at a time. This position supports our New Hampshire & Maine market, overseeing existing branch operations and driving performance across the region.

We are looking for a results-driven Regional Manager who is ready to own and grow a multi-site operation. This is not a maintenance role. It is for operators who lead from the front, hold their teams accountable, and treat branch P&L performance as a personal scorecard. You will have the backing of our corporate team while maintaining the autonomy to make the day-to-day calls that drive real results.

You will oversee daily operations across your assigned locations, develop local leadership talent, and build the customer and referral partner relationships that drive sustainable revenue. You will be expected to drive top-line growth while consistently improving job-level margins, cycle times, and conversion rates across your footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Performance

  • Full P&L accountability across assigned locations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management
  • Monitor KPIs including contribution margin, gross margin, EBITDA margin, DSO/DPOs, and more; implement corrective actions as needed
  • Proactively manage the cash conversion cycle; drive underbilling resolution and ensure timely, accurate invoicing discipline across all open jobs

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with key referral sources including insurance carriers, property managers, and commercial accounts
  • Execute local go-to-market strategy in coordination with regional business development resources and Corporate Marketing
  • Identify opportunities to grow wallet share within existing accounts and capture new referral partner relationships

Operations & Service Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across up to three branch locations, ensuring high standards in service delivery, safety, and compliance
  • Implement best practices to optimize operational efficiency, manage operating expenses, and improve job-level contribution margins
  • Monitor key cycle time stages-from lead receipt through job close-and drive accountability for improvement
  • Leverage our shared technology platform to deliver consistent customer experiences from first call to final walkthrough

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and develop local branch teams to foster a culture of accountability, performance, and service excellence
  • Embody the player-coach mentality: willing to roll up your sleeves alongside your team when needed
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between field operations and corporate support functions
  • Identify and develop future branch leadership talent within your team

Brand & Customer Experience

  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction across all branch locations, delivering on our promise of clear communication, no surprises, and dependable outcomes
  • Represent Insurcomm Restoration as a brand ambassador at local and regional industry events and trade associations

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of operations or field leadership experience in restoration, construction, disaster recovery, or related property services (e.g., HVAC, waterproofing, remediation)
  • Demonstrated success managing branch or site-level P&L with a track record of margin improvement and revenue growth
  • Ability to balance hands-on field execution with structured management discipline across multiple locations
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and job-level profitability
  • Proven ability to develop frontline teams, drive accountability, and build a performance-oriented culture
  • Effective communicator with the presence to lead teams and represent the company with external partners
  • Willingness to travel regularly across assigned locations; regional travel expected up to 25%
You'll Thrive Here If You Are...
  • An operator who leads from the front and holds yourself to the same standards you set for your team
  • Energized by multi-site complexity and motivated by clear, measurable results
  • Attracted to compensation structures that reward performance and results
  • Entrepreneurial with a drive for continuous improvement and growth within your region
  • Mission-driven, competitive, and ready to grow into a broader regional leadership role
  • Connected-you bring established local and regional industry relationships or the drive to build them fast

Benefits

What We Offer

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with performance incentives tied to branch P&L results
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous PTO and 9 paid holidays
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
  • Ongoing leadership development and career advancement within the Fortify platform

Culture & Opportunity

  • A role with real impact-you own the outcomes for the people, operations, and clients in your market
  • The stability of a 30-year-old company with the energy of a growing national brand
  • A clear development path toward Regional Director for the right candidate
  • PE-backed growth with genuine advancement opportunity as we expand
  • A team that values plain talk, hard work, and doing right by our customers
