Overview
Opportunity: Area Sales Manager
Manage accounts for a group of hotels, to achieve guest satisfaction, and to solicit past and new business ensuring all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded.
Compensation: $85,000-$90,000 / year
This is a hybrid position (3 days in-office, 2 days remote), candidate must be able to commute to our New York City office.

Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee a cluster of hotels and maximize revenue by selling all facets of the properties to previous, current, and potential clients.
  • Manage business transient and group opportunities ensuring pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
  • Actively solicit corporations for inclusion into their hotel travel program through personal calls, site inspections, tele-prospecting/email-prospecting, blitzing, and sales trips to assigned territories.
  • Negotiate, contract, and monitor account agreements and productivity. Ensure rates committed are competitive and offer the highest yield for the hotel to ensure maximum profitability. This includes annual rate negotiations for renewal of existing accounts and continuous acquisition of new accounts and group business in all terms.
  • Build and maintain consistent volume from existing corporate accounts and travel agents; maintain good working relationships with corporate travel managers, procurement officers, business travel agents, and other decision makers and influencers.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry functions as directed.
  • Create strategic sales action plans that will address the direct need of the segment and the hotel.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Position Requirements
  • 2+ years hotel sales experience within the hotel industry, business travel experience preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or related industry preferred.

Work Environment and Context
  • Work schedule varies and may include occasionally working on holidays, weekends.
  • Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard.
  • Moderate travel between hotels and client's locations required.
