Job description

Summary:
The Exclusive Brands Sales Manager is responsible for wine sales and distribution of our national and controlled brands for the company. They are responsible for managing key relationships and partnerships with brokers, distributors, vendors and consumers. This role serves as the key driver for sales and will require high business acumen, deep industry knowledge, strong customer service skills, and be able to serve as our brand ambassador. The Exclusive Brands Sales Manager will cultivate opportunities in the market for chain accounts and set (and reach) sales targets. This role will work closely with the National Sales Director, Regional Managers, and Marketing in creating strategies for brand positioning and market penetration, as well as developing concepts, campaigns and other deliverables for consumers.
Reports to: Director of National Sales
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Compensation: $120k - $150k with a discretionary bonus and commission based on company and sales performance.
You Will:
  • Develop strategic initiatives, set annual sales goals, and leverage opportunities to grow brands and market share.
  • Have and/or create great relationships with key strategic customers and distributors to add value and deliver the strategic plan through these key relationships
  • In depth knowledge of pricing strategy throughout the 3-tier system
  • Provide wine/brand education and presentations for buyers, distributors, and consumers.
  • May be involved in the budgeting and forecasting sales revenue and budgets.
  • Maintain database on consumers/clients; continually gather and analyze data, make recommendations or create/revise strategies, and report regularly to critical senior management and ownership.
  • Maintain and support a safe working environment for staff, work with EH&S to report near misses and risks and proactively keep work areas safe.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal and local regulations, including TTB, ABC, and all other governmental regulatory committees.
  • Work closely with Marketing on brand development and concept creation, identifying key markets for specific development opportunities; may also collaborate on specific promotions, brand programming, etc.
  • Achieve revenue and distribution goals
  • Travel to attend client meetings if necessary
  • Other duties as assigned.

You Have:
  • At least five years of sales management experience in a wine or spirits company required, experience in a high-volume winery (>500K case annual production) strongly desired
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but appropriate work experience is considered.
  • Strong problem solving and effective decision making, in a fast-paced, high volume and high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of wine, wine sales, and three-tier distribution
  • Understanding of grocery and chain markets
  • Ability to budget and forecast, strong sense of sales trends and market
  • Must be able to travel on occasion (5-30%) of the time (this amount could grow in time in the future); Valid driver's license and the ability to be insured and hold clearance to fly domestically
  • Safety first mentality, able to create and maintain a safe working environment and report any potential risks
  • Extremely analytical and detail oriented, with high utilization of data/analytics to help inform decisions regarding sales strategies, pricing, FOB, etc.
  • Ability to work with customers, vendors, brokers, distributors, wholesalers, staff and more with positivity and engagement, serving as a true ambassador for company and its brands
  • Proven ability to cultivate, build and maintain relationships
  • Fluency in MS Office required and familiarity with Industry software/data a plus (VIP, iDig, Nielsen, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, shift priorities, adapt quickly to new situations, and work under tight deadlines
  • Strong individual contributor with the ability to self-direct
